Francis Collins’ Booklets Available Soon

In the summer of 2017, Faculty Commons received permission from Simon & Schuster to reprint the first chapter of The Language of God by Francis Collins.

Collins was the director of the Human Genome Project and now is the head of the National Institute of Health (NIH). In this chapter he tells his story of going from an atheistic childhood and adulthood to discover the existence of, and his need for, the God who created him.

This summer Faculty Commons was able to secure permission for an additional printing. The initial printing was distributed last year; however, there will soon be copies for you to give to colleagues on campus. Let us know if you would like one or more.

Start a Reason For God study

On many campuses faculty, staff and administrators are leading Reason For God studies. This book by Tim Keller is a great way to have discussions on topics that many on campus have wanted to consider – but weren’t sure how.

Keller addresses these questions that people often ask (or want to):

  • There can’t be one true religion.
  • I don’t think if God exists he would allow such suffering.
  • The Bible isn’t historically reliable.
  • Science has disproved Christianity.

Nancy DiMarco has been a professor of nutrition at TWU for many years, the director of the Center for Women’s Health, a wife and mom of three.. She helped start sports dietetics and has former students running sport dietetics programs all over the country.
